DIY Cocoa butter shower scrub cubes
Today I am going to show you how I made these cocoa butter shower scrub cubes from scratch! These shower cubes contain cocoa butter, which moisturizes and nourishes the skin’s surface. Whilst also using white sugar to exfoliate the upper layers and remove dead skin cells. Your skin will feel soft and silky after your shower. Make sure you do store these in an airtight container when you are finished. These look good enough to eat and we don’t want anyone or anything trying to eat these sugary goodies!
What you will need:
1 small bowl
1 large bowl
A kitchen knife
Moulds or tray of your choice
½ cup of Soap base
2/3 cups of Cocoa butter
1 ½ cups of white sugar
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp of fragrance oil (I used Bramble berry’s sweet pea)
1 drop of colouring
Step 1: Melt the soap base in the microwave for 10-second intervals
Step 2: Melt the cocoa butter in the microwave for 20-second intervals
Step 3: Combine the cocoa butter, soap base, coconut oil and sugar. As the mixture starts to set, put the bowl back into the microwave at 20-second intervals to melt it down.
Step 4: Once the mixture is combined, add the fragrance oil and colouring to create your desired effect.
Step 5: Pour mixture into the tray or mould of your choice. Place into the fridge to set for 1 hour.
Step 6: Remove from the fridge when set. Cut the edges and remove from the mould.
Step 7: Cut into squares if you are not using a shape mould. Then place in a air tight container and use 1 cube at a time in your shower!
I hope you guys loved this little tutorial. It is a great recipe to try out and home and even great to give away as gifts!
Lots of love,
