Rimmel – Oh my gloss review
I was absolutely thrilled recently, when a few of the new Rimmel lip glosses from the ‘Oh my Gloss’ collection came into my possession. On the average day I have been wearing a lip liner with a gloss over the top to keep them hydrated as winter approaches. I don’t wear lipstick everyday because its high maintenance and if I’m just running errands I prefer a gloss. The colours I have been trialling are; Love Bug, Ooh la la and Pin Up.
The most impressive feature I found when wearing these lip glosses, was that they feel so comfortable on your lips. It is one of the smoothest formulas I have ever used. Gliding on so perfectly, giving a hydrated feeling rather than sticky. It has a similar feeling to wearing a lip butter, thicker and smoother then a balm but coating it with a layer of moisture. They also have a really nice applicator, which is long and flat.
Compared to some traditional lip glosses I own, like the Napoleon Perdis lip veil I was amazed at the difference in feeling. Usually when rubbing my lips together to evenly spread the gloss, I really had to force it because it is so sticky! I will definitely be sticking to my Rimmel glosses now that I have experienced the difference. The glosses are said to last up to 6 hours, mine still looked good after about 4 hours but I couldn’t last the full 6 hours without eating something ha-ha! They contain argan oil and vitamin e – which is why they are so nourishing. The lip glosses have that amazing argan oil scent – just a milder aroma to that of Moroccan Oil hair products. The glosses are translucent and super shiny when applied. They also leave a stain on your lips, so if you are eating out you wont be left completely bare.
Love bug is my favourite colour so far – I’m a sucker for a baby pink. It is a really soft and pretty look. The Ooh la la and Pin up are also great shades; if you are a pink girl you will love both of these. The pair are very similar in colour when swatched. The Ooh la la is a pink based red so if you are looking for a fire engine red, this probably won’t be the shade for you. But if you are a pink lover, you are in luck!
I would honestly recommend them to everyone! To check out the other 12 shades and where to buy them go to:
